If you're a lover of cruise ships you'll want to scroll through these photos and see who visited us while we were living in Sydney. It was so fun to wake up in the morning, open the curtains and see which new cruise ship had docked in our front yard.
We made a point to walk over to the other side of the Quay (pronounced "Key") to wave goodbye to these passengers when their ships departed. The passengers would all crowd the viewing decks and wave back at us. The ships would sound their horns and off they would go. It was very dramatic and quite lovely. And for most of these elderly travelers, it was the perfect way to see new parts of the world.
When you first look at cruise ships they all tend to look the same. But when you watch them dock in your front yard, you easily become afficionados and recognize their subtle and not so subtle differences. We really got into admiring them and marveling at how they even float.
Here's a sampling of some of the ships that we saw.
